icky.

unfortunately, when it rains, it pours. i watch for these all of the time and it always seems that like four or five badges from one sorority will pop up at the same time. ehh.

I hope an AlphaGam gets these!

Maybe I'll bid on the fourth badge, which is unmarked, if the price doesn't get too outrageous. I would feel bad owning one that was inscribed with another member's name on it.

Interesting that NeonPi's link show that the seller is based in Indianapolis and doesn't know that sorority/fraternity it is from!!

The second badge that Leslie mentions is attributed to Tau chapter. That's not a Tau, it's a Upsilon.

I also noticed that. I sent a polite email to the seller notifying him/her about the mistake.

I checked on the sister search and the woman's who's badge that is is still listed, should we try and contact her? I tried doing a people search and couldn't come up with her # but I have an address. Any ideas?

If she's still listed, how come her badge is up for auction?

It's probably not the wonderful (true) story about Mickey Gates Maker. She was a photojournalist who was captured by the Japanese in the Philippines (IIRC--I may have a bit of this wrong; maybe it was the Korean War?) and sold the pearls from her badge, one by one, for food. I actually met her at Convention, so I know that this is not a legend!!

How did you find her?? I couldn't even find myself entering all of the fields!!!

Okay...I found her on Member Services but the US Post Office has not heard of the City or Zip!!

ilovemyglo 01-31-2002 03:00 AM

maybe contact IHQ and ask them to check on her info to make sure it is correct, wouldn't it be cool if you got a phone call 75 years from now from someone kowing where your first badge ever was?

AGDLynn 01-31-2002 06:44 PM

What would be cooler would be if I were still around at age 121!:)
