Junior rushing at UIUC

Hey everyone! So I'm going to be a junior at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. I transferred last year and rushed but had to drop half way through because of a family emergency. I have friends in many houses and am getting rec letters for a couple. I just want to know what my odds are of getting into a house? I have a 3.7 GPA and am pretty active at Illinois. Also my aunt was in one of the houses when she was at Illinois but I don't know if that means something or not. I just really want the sisterhood, greek experience so much but I don't want to get my hopes up.
Thanks everyone!

There are a small handful of chapters in which having an aunt as a member makes you a legacy. I can think of two off the top of my head.

Being a junior may not be the end of the world since you were a transfer. But, I would do everything to maximize your options such as letter of rec, letting your Greek friends you are coming through recruitment, and putting your best foot forward. Good luck to you, you can't join if you don't try!

It's been [cough] years since I graduated from UIUC, but generally, the junior placement rate is pretty good, at least compared to other schools of similarly-sized recruitments. Your options will be limited, but not non-existent. Usually there is a rho gamma group that is all juniors, perhaps one out of twenty or so. Keep your options open, show some enthusiasm for living in the chapter house as a senior, and don't take it personally if you get released from chapters where you have a lot of friends.
