It has been a long time since I have been able to visit the GC.
I am finally taking a mental break from dual grad schools.

I am curious as to what you like best about your organization/chapter? Sisterfriends, what do you like best about the organization of interest?

These are just some of the words that describe the ladies of the organization of interest! They hold it down not only on campus but also in the community and classroom.

I think the overall caliber of the Membership is what initially captivated me about the Organization of my interest. Being from a West Indian/Caribbean background I don't have any family members in BGLOs however a lot of my parents friends, fellow church patrons and especially my high school teachers were/are a members and they were all very influential my life in a variety of ways via Jr. AKA, community service projects, mentoring, etc. The older I got the more research I did on my own which confirmed my belief in my desire to join.

There are many things that I like about my org. of interest, but the one thing that stands out to me most is how nurturing members have been of my interest. When I was a freshman in college, I was not sure which org. I would pursue membership into. ALL of my friends/roommates were interested in another org. and some of them would come home in near tears talking about how members of that org just out-right disrespected/embarassed them. I saw/heard of it time and time again. My experiences at the time were altogether different. Anytime I expressed interest of any sort, all I got was positive expressions, members trying to help me to get there. That is what really impressed me about this org initially. Beyond that, it would have to be the caliber of its membership. On a few occassions, I would meet older ladies in business or wherever and would be totally impressed with them only to later find out that they were members.
