Little Women: LA on Lifetime
|
And here I'm thinking of the book by Louisa May Alcott. So disappointed.

LOL. Perhaps Lifetime chose that name to deceeeeeeeeeeive youuuuuu. *wicked laugh*

I've been watching. It is every petty-bickering-fighting-reality-show-with-women meets Little People, Big World.
The silliness is less annoying and more amusing. Yes, I find it more amusing because these are little people. I said it. The good thing is they discuss the issues faced by little people and it does put things in perspective. There are things we take for granted that other people would love to have. Elena is the cast member who is being outcast because she hasn't suffered like the other women suffered. She's more physically attractive and doesn't have the body characteristics that get little people ostracized. |
Just noticed this post and have to say that I really enjoy the show. I think Terra crossed the line when she felt the need to share Christy's business about her sobriety. It was just rude and uncalled for. It's clear that Terra is jealous of Elena and Traci bores me. She does seem a bit uptight and judgmental. My favorite is Briana.

One of my daughters is a little person. She is proportionally correct--meaning she's a "midget", as some people call them, as opposed to a "dwarf" like most of these women are. In other words, most people think she's a child, although she's 18, and there are many, many tiny Central American women in this area who are like our daughter.
She likes reality TV but is repelled by that show. |

I can't stand Terra, she's such an instigator and so cruel to the people around her.
She fought with Christy about her sobriety She has multiple times commented that Natasha is only married for a green card. Etc... She's just terrible. |

I believe that the LPA considers a woman under 4'8" to be a little person. |
They hate Elena because of her looks and because she used the "m-word."
When the episode first aired I missed the first part and thought they kept saying "the n-word." I was like "her husband better check her for saying 'the n-word'. Being married to a Black man doesn't give you the right to use that word." Then I caught up and realized they were saying "the m-word." It's not like my opinion matters but perhaps Elena can use that word to self-identify but shouldn't use that word to represent the whole if some of them are offended by the word or consider it inaccurate. |

I had a high school friend who is 4'11". She had a very nice, fully proportioned, body. The boys loved her because she was gorgeous and had a rotund fully proportioned butt. |

My oldest son has a childhood friend who's a dwarf (disproportionate dwarf, if you will), like his dad and sister. They are also over the terminology business. We are all trying to focus on normal living--let's get the aids we need to in order to live life like everyone else. Period! |
