Would it be appropriate if...
A non-greek like myself, give a person who just crossed a paddle at their probate or right after they crossed?
I would prefer people from the NPHC's D9 to answer this question. |
This can vary by campus and city culture. There are cultures in which gifting and displaying paddles (decorative or otherwise) is frowned upon altogether because of what it is interpreted as meaning.
If decorative paddles are accepted in that particular culture; you purchased the paddle or tend to make artwork/decorations; and you and that person have a close relationship: Yes, it is appropriate If you made the paddle but don't normally make artwork/decorations; do not have a close relationship with the person; and/or are an aspirant of that NPHC GLO: No, it is not appropriate based on the NPHC environments with which I am familiar |
