It's official!!!
 

I talked to Sherry Haman at HQ about an hour ago and she said that Joan MacCallum and Melanie Doyle both said yes to AOII bringing me down to set up the archives at HQ over Spring Break!!! I'm so excited. Not only do I get to spend a week and a half in Nashville, I get to see just about EVERYTHING that AOII has collected over the past 105 years!! It also looks good on my CV :) (See what the archival fee can do for you! :D )

I'm not at all excited, now am I!! I just wanted to share. I would also recommend that anyone of you all, if you get a chance, to go and visit HQ. Its gorgeous!

Oh, Sarah! I am so happy for you!!!!! What a fantastic opportunity. I wish that I could dig around with you. I just got my AOII 100-year history book and I read a little every night. It is so facinating and I have a list of questions. Maybe I could send it to you and you may be able to find the answers in the archieves. I completely understand how busy you will be but just if you remember.

I'd be more than happy to look and see if I could find answers to questions. What I saw in the hour that I was down there on my brief visit the beginning of January was that there is TONS of really cool stuff (the original petitions from some of the early chapters, a full box of Stella's poems, scrapbooks from some closed chapters, a box from each alumnae and collegiate chapter, and lots of stuff that we didn't even get into to look at!!) I'll be down in the basement basically cataloging the stuff, but I have to check the condition of everything and analyze the stuff as well so that means I have to look through everything, right?! You all want me to be as thorough as possible--looking out for the preservation of the artefacts of course! :)
