Strengths & Weaknesses
Okay, so I was watching tv this morning and the show started making me think about my ex and our failed relationship and I started thinking about things that happened, etc. It got me thinking...What do you perceive to be men's and women's strengths and weaknesses in a relationship. Obviously not all people are alike, that's why I thought this might make for an interesting discussion!

I can only answer this on Hubby's and my own personal level.
We are either in direct conflict or exactly the same. At different times a weakness can become your strength. It is easier to site points that have been in harmony or discord. Keep in mind, our positons keep changing as do the roles we take. Independant Loyal to a fault Kids-disciplin or puting them first. Money-His is mine, but mine is mine. Social-rather stay at home than cut loose. Family time sometimes it's too much others, too little. Inlaws-he is more comfortable asking my side for little favors. Free time/Vacation-he likes cold, I want a cruise, Colorado was a great place in the summer, but we are both ready to find anoter destination. We really do trade places on these issues as our perspective is different. Most of the time, we click! |
WOMEN
*Weaknesses -TALKS TOO MUCH -too emotional -takes everything personal -insecure about body -whines -expect men, even other women to read their mind -chooses heart over head in inappropiate situations MEN *Weaknesses -won't show weaknesses (THEY HAVE THEM!) -disobedient -egotistical (sp?) -bullheaded -chooses head over heart in inappropiate situations |
I like the one about women expecting you to read their mind and the fact they over analyze things too much. Like this guy has got to perfectly fit what she expects him to be. Another thing...... They will always remember if you say something or do something negative. Actually, I think both men and women can be rather egotistical and that can put a strain on any relationship. I agree with Justamom. I'm no relationship expert but I would imagine that communication, forgiveness, loyalty, giving to each other, and open-mindedness is key.
