Prayers needed, brothers.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I need some prayers please; my Dad is in the hospital and is not doing too well. Sorry to have not been in touch with any of my brothers lately but it's been chaotic, stressful, and exhausting.

I'm not a brother; but, I wanted to let you know that I saw your post and have lifted you, your father and your family in prayer.

As one Greek Brother to another, my prayers are with your father and your family. Stay Strong!!!

Thanks everyone; my dad is doing much better today; to make a long story short, he entered the hospital last Friday due to abnormalities from his kidneys, which were deteriorating; has some mild dementia which led to a stress-related heart attack (mild) that night; but he is now on dialysis and they have pulled out over 5# of toxins and fluids from his body. It was scary Wednesday when the doctor asked us to get the hospital a copy of his Living Will.

But in a unique blessing, it was great last night to snap a picture of my Mom feeding him some ice cream; and I've never cried at someone eating ice cream before. #NoShame

Sadly, he will have to be on dialysis the rest of his life; tentatively, he will be out by Monday or Tuesday.

Side note: Mom and I suddenly remembered tonight that my Dad's father had kidney problems and that was the cause of his passing; therefore, I'm starting regular checkups on my kidneys with my doctor regarding this piece of family health history.

Just a quick update on my Dad: he is being moved to an assisted living facility tomorrow and Hospice will be meeting with my Mom and myself also tomorrow. Just a matter of time now......the prognosis is not good.

So sorry to hear that. I've been there (twice) and can say that, at least in my experience, this can be a time that is simultaneously sad, stressful and yet deeply meaningful. Prayers for all of you!

My Brother Roy Roberts (ZetaPh) wanted to let all know that his Father passed away.
He will post more when he can!

Send out your prayers to him and his family for their loss.

Hey everyone, yes, I'm back on here but under a new ID, as I can't get logged in under my old one while I was gone for a while.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my Dad passed away on May 2nd.

Thanks to Tom for posting the initial message about my Dad's passing.

FSUZeta 05-20-2014 08:19 PM

I am so sorry that your dad passed. I hope that time and good memories will bring you, your mother and your family comfort.
