Semi-Problems
So yesterday three car loads of sisters were headed to meet with this guy that we are in a calendar for (all the proceeds from the sale go to a children's hospital). So we are in another town about half an hour away and we are finally there and as we are turning in to the place the car I was in was struck by a semi. We spun around hitting the car in front of us and then continued to spin until we were up on a curb turned the wrong way. I was in the car with two sisters in the back seat that was strck by the semi. Two sister were in the car in front that we struck. So the car I was in was totalled but it was an SUV so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. So two of us were sent in an ambulance. I have basically whiplash, and my back is so sore. The other sister that was the driver in my car has basically the same and the other girl in our car (my little sis) today is hurting really bad so she has to go the e.r. today. The two girls in the car we struck are hurt a little too. One of them has a bump on her head and the other one has some neck problems too. When I got out of the E.R. about twnenty sisters were there and it was so wonderfuL! I love them so much for being htere. I can't go to classes for three days but they have been helping me out a lot. They even cancelled our chapter meeting cause so many people were there! So I thought I would tell you how awesome my sisters are because I love them for helping me!
Love and loyalty, Sarah |
I am glad you all are allright. Being hit by a semi in no small thing. I hope you all feel better soon!

I'm glad you weren't horribly hurt. I hate semi-trucks. They think they really just own the whole damn road. I hate the 3.5 hour drive home on the interstate because of the big trucks.
Did the semi-driver get out and help you guys out?! |
I just had to invade the AGD board to wish you and your sisters a speedy recovery! I'm glad all your injuries were relatively minor!
|
Sarah, im happy to hear that you and your sisters were not terribly hurt that its great to know your chapter was there for you guys.

The semi driver did not try to help us at all. He did get out but he immediately said that it was our fault. I am still in pain though, because he wasn't paying attention. He wasn't very nice. The doctor told us we were so fortunate because we don't have any broken anythings we all just have neck and back problems. We were supposed to take my Geo Prizm, had we been in that we could be dead right now, but since we were in an SUV we sat up higher and it wasn't as bad. Thank gOD. I feel awful that her blazer is totalled but at least we are all alive to tell people. Semis are okay. We weren;t on the expressway we were in a small town called Glasgow, KY. We were on a main street and he could have gotten into the left hand lane and passed us but didn't. So I am sure it is his fault. My dad said cause it was a Semi the trucking company will try to settle something with us so we don't sue. I guess so. Every thing will be better soon I hope.
Love Sarah |
That Semi driver is a total prick! In any accident, no matter who's fault it is, everyone should think about the wellbeing of the people involved and if they are badly hurt!

Sarah, I'm sooo glad that you are okay! I think that my hubby's brother got married in Glasgow at a little 1 room Baptist church (preacher kept forgetting Andy's name, but that's a different story, lol.)
A friend had the same situation as you. A Kmart truck (or maybe Walmart) came off the expressway and didn't stop like he was supposed to. He totalled Aleisha's truck and tried to make it like it was her fault. She was in the hospital and their insurance person (or someone like that) was trying to badger her. Her sister who is a lawyer or work in insurance, or something, read him the riot act and just about got him permanently banned from the hospital. Situations like your accident is one reason that I didn't want an Altima without the ABS/side air bags even they were hard to find. Like I told my hubby, these days, you don't knpw where and when you will get hit. I want him to trade in his Civic for something higher. He doesn't like SUVs so I'm trying for something else. Best of luck to each of you!! Loyally, Lynn |
Get well soon!
Dear Sarah:
I hope that you feel better soon, that was just a horrible thing that happened to you! I am glad that you had loved ones around you during this difficult time. That is what sisterhood is all about! Take care, LIEP JR |
Sarah,
Thank God that you and everyone else is well! The cars can always be replaced; the people inside them can't. Wishing you and our sisters a very speedy recovery! LIEP, Maria |
Sorry to invade your board but I was just reading about your horrible accident and just wanted to say thank the lord you are ok. Hope you and your sisters have a speedy recovery.
