SEC Women's Gymnastics

I just spent a wonderful afternoon watching the SEC championships in women's gymnastics. The finals between Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and LSU were just breathtaking! What amazing talent. I recall that back in the day, Olympian Courtney Kupets joined AOII at Georgia. Can any sororities claim these athletes as members?

I don't believe any of the U of Alabama gymnasts are sorority members.
It's pretty amazing how collegiate gymnastics are so different from Olympic level. It's one sport where the collegiate, I think, is much higher than the Olympic.
Olympic is about control and precision, but collegiate is about control, precision, and POWER!

The Bama coach is a ZTA special convention initiate.

I didn't know that - thanks!

I just made a short list for my university of athletes who are in GLO's (as the coaches are resistant to their team members being Greek). I'll find it & post here.

One was Kerry Strug, gold medalist at the 1996 Olympics in gymnastics. Then, went to UCLA & initiated into Kappa Alpha Theta.

She had been such a supporter of the Nu chapter Pink Out gymnastics events and her eldest daughter joined ZTA at Bama (and I think is one of the chapter advisors).
