Quitting a Sorority and Joining Another?

Hi,
A good friend of mine and I pledged a professional/ social sorority last year together and now my friend has been thinking about quitting our sorority. She changed her major and now feels left out because it's not an approved major, and is frustrated because the girls aren't as social as she'd hoped they would be. Basically she feels left out and that she has difficulty relating to the other girls in our sorority. I know she loves being Greek so I'm wondering, is it possible for her to quit our sorority and join a strictly social sorority that would fit her better?
Thank you for you help! :)

As long as her first sorority does not belong to the National Panhellenic Conference, then yes, she is free to pursue membership in a social sorority.

It's Panhel on a chapter by chapter basis, ours is, but I'm not sure what the protocol would be for this situation.

Your chapters may belong to the campus Panhellenic on a chapter by chapter basis but there are only 26 NPC organizations. If she does not belong to one of those, then yes, she can leave yours and join one of them.

Thank you for your help! Will it be harder for her to join another sorority since she was already in one (even one that is not NPC)?

Her class standing would impact it more - sophomore, junior, etc.

If her chapter is Panhel on their campus I would think that would put the kibosh on her pledging elsewhere.

Agree. NPC policies might not prohibit it, but local policies or culture certainly could.
