Junior PNM

hey girls........i was hoping you all could help me with a quick question. My daughter just got accepted into A&M this past Spring. she is dying to do recruitment for the Fall as this will be her first chance to do rush. she will have 60 hours so will barely be a junior. anyway, she was told that some chapters have a certain number of both sophmores and juniors that they have to pick. is this true? She will have plenty of recs and is very involved in many things (and great GPA). Also, she will most likely be at A&m 5 years instead of 4. should she tell the actives this or not say anything? anyway, jsut wanted some A&M alumni's advice.........thanks, girls!

I do believe that A & M as an upperclass quota - but they are not required to use it. I would make sure that all her rec writers know that she will be there at least 4 years and that they include that information on their recs. It's really hard to have a successful recruitment as an upperclassman at most large Greek schools - and A & M is one. Be sure that she keeps a totally open mind and maximizes her options. No TENT TALK. She should be happy with ANY invitation she gets...IF she really wants to be Greek.

Got it... I will be sure and give her your advice. :-) I hope she at least has a chance.

I'm glad this was QFP'd.

On a seperate rant why do parents feel the need to do research on behalf of their PMN kids on the internet. If the PNM wants info then they should be the one to reach out. Smh. Ok done with my rant.

I don't understand this, either. And I REALLY don't understand why the OP felt the need to pose as her mother.. or as her daughter? Who knows. Either way, it's weird and unnecessary.

This. I'm not so terribly against mothers researching for daughters. Just be honest about it. Don't pretend to be your daughter. That IS weird.

Hoping one or the other just didn't want to make a separate profile & posted on 1 account.

^^^to me that would be even more weird. Like, way too symbiotic for me!
