Informal vs. formal pledging process

My school does formal rush in the spring, and then a few sororities also do informal in the fall & spring. The spring informal bids were given out 2 weeks after the formal bids, but then we went on spring break (aka, right now). All the girls who went through formal recruitment have already received their bigs, but the girls going through informal haven't. Will I still get a big, and will be considered of the same pledge class as the girls who went through formal recruitment?

I'm not sure if this is something that varies from school to school, but I figured there must be some general consensus on it.

Yes, it varies. Ask your pledge trainer.

But even if you have a compressed schedule (i.e. you initiate with the NM's from formal recruitment), I have never heard of anyone not getting a big. You may miss out on some smaller stuff, but the highlights will probably be there.

Our group has that if you a formally pledged before the formal pledge class gets bigs - you would get a big at that same time and initiate with them. If they already have their bigs when you have the formal pledging ceremony - then you would get your big later, and have initiation separately. Only in rarer circumstances would they hold you over for the following semester- it is usually just a couple weeks.
