Chi Omega pins on ebay
 Hi Chi O sisters,
It's an Alpha Phi here...While on ebay I have noticed MANY XO pins beign auctioned and one particular bidder buying them. He has collected at least 6 in the last several months... How do you all feel about that? I know as A-phi's and many KKG's (among others), we are having difficulty with this and wish we could do more, but sadly all we can do is bid - and this individual has a great deal of money to bid high... Any thoughts? An A-Phi thinking of you....Best wishes! |
I was on Ebay the other week and noticed the numerous Chi Omega pins. I was particularly disturbed that our founding chapter had an old pin on there  But what can you do? I don't have the money to be bidding on these pins when all I'd do is turn around and give it to Nationals without reimbursement... especially when the pin is going for $100s
I wish some people could see the pride in these pins and not bid on them. And if someone isn't a part of a sorority or fraternity, I wish they'd just return the pin instead of letting people bid on it. But I guess that's what happens when people stop loving their organization :( Thanks for the info! Hootie |
I've seen alot of pins of lately too, and I always want to bid on them, but they're so expensive! I feel bad, because I just want to get them the heck off of there, but what can ya do....maybe win the lottery or something:rolleyes:

Hello -
I too am saddned by the loss of these pins to collectors...The XO pins in question went to a man who has a great deal of money and VERY FEW people can outbid him. And when they try they end up paying a 4 figure price tag. This bidder isn't a graceful winner or loser as I came to find out after bidding on a lazy phi pin...There isn't much that can be done as they are from estates and up free free sale on the open market... What needs to be done is education to ALL sororoity and fraternity members that in case of their demise, that the pins go back to the chapters, EO's or a family memeber who will know what to do with them. Good luck on trying to get them. Here's to all greeks - we are sisters regardless! an A-phi |
Hi Chi O -
There is another pin on ebay, please someone bid on it so that A CHI OMEGA SISTER gets it rather than a collector... Sorry, but presently I am a bit passionate about pins getting back to their sororities. Item # 1064122609 Good luck!!! an A-Phi:eek: |
Something beautiful from EBAY...
Hi Ladies...
These are quite beautiful and *ARE* affordable. I am thinking of getting some DG ones upon my return to North America. |
I bought cards from this lady, and they are so GREAT!! I highly encourage you guys getting some. We used them as bid cards during informals and also for invitations. She will send you a flyer so you can buy more when you're out. They are really great :)

Estate sales are our worst enemies when it comes to the pins- the family members are not part of a greek organization so they have no clue of their meaning and sell them at the estate sales. I always just ask the seller point blank where the pin came from. Like that XO paddle for sale (it is ref. in another post) I asked the seller where they got it from.... yep... an estate sale.
Chi O's - what do you think of this idea- I really think National needs a new position of someone who just monitors the web on behalf of XO. Watches ebay and other sites for our protection. So other sororities/fraternities have someone that does this as a full time job? |
