Slightly Confused???

Alright

As many of you know I am a prospect right now. Im kinda scared because I dont know what Im getting myself into. Furthermore these ladies are being so nice and giving me every opportunity to ask questions...only I dont know the right questions to ask *i dont want that to backfire later*.

But heres the real question...I didnt find out about Sigma Gamma Rho until this past semester. I love the ladies and hope to be friends with them even if I dont make it. But more importantly I love the history. Yet I keep hearing everybody say you have to want it in your heart. How do you want something in your heart that you only have brief insight about? Any comments, advice, etc??????

Yours In Christ,
Holy Ghost7

You sound like me when I was a prospect. "I didn't find out... I love the history". It's going to be ok, OK?

I will send you a PM later this week.

Great question!!

HolyGhost7,

I understand what you mean. Personally, I associated it with the Bible. I take it that you are a Christian and so am I. Before I chose the "road less traveled," I thought about when I heard the gospel and how I thirsted for Christ and His Word as if He was water in a desert. I didn't know much about Him, but I knew enough to want Him in my life.

I'm not putting Sigma above God by any means, but the principle runs parallel to wanting to be a member of Sigma Gamma Rho. Sure, you'll be a little shaky to take the plunge wondering how in the world you're going to feel so strongly about the organization, but you'll know within yourself if you're making the right decision. I can't speak for another chapter, but our chapter speaks to anyone we know... whether they didn't cross, or they chose a different path. We just believe in staying true to ourselves... which is exactly what you have to do as well.

I didn't intend on answering this question (and I probably still didn't) but I didn't want you to feel like you asked "the wrong question." You're doing what we want you to do... research!

*big hug*

Be true to yourself!

First and foremost I think that my LS did a great job of answering your question, but I'll put in my two cents aswell. Wanting something in your heart does not really mean that you have to know everything about it right away!! I think that wanting something in your heart has to do with having a special desire to be a part of something and also wanting that to be a special part of you!!! I think that you will realize that special feeling when you begin to first, pray to GOD and ask him if this is the right thing for you. Secondly, when you get to really learn our history and begin to understand the awesome strenghth and courage that our founders had and the trials that they must have been through in the early twenties at a prodominately white university. Thirdly, when you begin to feel like this is where God wants you to be, that there is no other sorority that you could ever give your all to, and when you would fight to stand up for the sorority and what it stands for!!! Just be true to yourself and you will soon understand these things!!! I love you my sista in christ!!!!

Sorors Fine Rhoyalty and Rhoyalty 22,

I swear we all must be on the same wave length! My pm was basically stating both of your comments. Holy Ghost 7 take it to the Lord in prayer! You can't go wrong! Keep doing your research that is the only way you will find answers to your questions.

That same Sigma mind...

Soror SeriousSigma22,

It's funny how the minds of Sigma ladies often cross paths. We just got it like that... :p
