A Winter Olympics Recruitment!
I've been looking at recruitment stories on here for awhile, and finally decided to post mine! I go to a large school with a pretty competitive recruitment. We have 11 sororities on our campus.
I decided to name these sororities (in no particular order) after Winter Olympics events: Hockey Curling Ski Jumping Figure Skating Alpine Skiing Luge Bobsled Speed Skating Snowboarding Skeleton Cross Country Skiing On the first day of recruitment, we visited all eleven chapters. On day two, we could visit up to seven. Day three was pref and we could visit up to three chapters. |
Hockey! Boom.

Speed Skating!

I will root for figure skating.

This is a great theme, because the events could really align well with "tent talk" reputations: "I was intimidated by the members of Figure Skating; they were so beautiful and put together, and I didn't think I'd want to have to live up to that expectation every day! I just wasn't sure I'd fit in...but everyone at Curling was so nice and I felt I could be myself."

Indeed! With the debut of women's ski jumping, perhaps Ski Jumping is the newest chapter on campus. And bump ing takes on a new vibe at the Hockey house .... Skeleton and Luge attract and tend to recruit from a similar pool of PNMs. Alpine has been on campus from day one. It's a single letter chapter.

Now I really want to hear the real story! Bring it on! :) |

Or ... She is a Hockey legacy who found her home in another sport!
LOL Sciencewoman: Bobsled is a bit cliquey, and the fraternity they socialize most with tends to bust through bathroom doors. I wonder if they are still trying to complete construction of all of the chapter houses before recruitment begins ... OP, we are ready! : ) |

Yes -- Lily curling pants.

OP, we did not mean to scare you away. We are snowed in with cabin fever and need a recruitment story cure.
