Madison Junior Rush
 

I'm transferring to Madison this fall as a junior, and my old school doesn't have Greek life at all, and I really want to join a sorority! Is there any chance that I could get into one, or is it kind of out of the question because of my age? Thanks so much!:)

It's not out of the question at most Big 10 schools but it will be more restricted. However, there is a new colony (woo hoo!) going onto UW next fall. Do lots and lots of reading about colony rush here because it is not the same animal at all. Then I would recommend going through formal rush and seeing how it goes. You will probably be cut heavily but not completely (subject to grades, extracurriculars, personality, appearance, whether the stars align correctly for you that day ...) during formal rush and at some point you will need to decide if you going with an established chapter or a new one is a better fit for you. Unfortunately you have to decide yes or no on part one before you can even begin to be considered for part 2, so you have to be prepared to make a commitment on faith.
