So sad to hear of this through a friend who is a Knox alum of Pi Beta Phi.

:(

What a shame.

Pi Phi had members killed in the Lockerbie crash, the Newtown massacre, and now this.

It is so sad. I know she was one of the Pi Phis I met during the years when my sons were playing football for Knox and the chapter would invite us to their events. The Illinois Beta-Deltas are so motivated, intelligent and they juggle so many things in addition to their membership. Lexie's senseless death is such a loss. My heart breaks for her family and friends.

I wrote a blog post about Lexie and Anne Smedinghoff, the Theta who was killed in April. wp.me/p20I1i-1od

Thank you for your blog post, nyapbp. Heartbreaking losses, promising lives ended much too soon. Compassion and deep peace.

Thanks for this. Anne was from my hometown. Wonderful young woman.

Pi Phis, I'm so sorry for your loss. Absolutely stunning and heartbreaking and so, so unnecessary :(

Lexie was my big in pi phi, and her death is truly shattering. She loved pi phi, and all of her sisters so much, and would be honored to be remembered and thought of by sisters in our organization and throughout all greek communities.
It has been touching how thoughtful the active members of our chapter have been. Even though both Lexie and I graduated quite awhile ago, they still reached out and showed their sisterly support. It is actions like those which exemplify what this is all about. Sisterhood, forever.
