University of Lethbridge
So after looking at clemsongirl's amazing maps, I started thinking about expansion in Canada- which jogged my memory to the University of Lethbridge. I did a quick search and found the announcement I was thinking of (they wanted to start a Greek system). I also googled some and found Delta Eta Iota, as well. I'm just curious, did any NPC groups present at U of L, or did it not even make it to that stage? I found it interesting that a Canadian school was wanting to make this change, but I don't know how much came of it

Hi ColdInCanada11,
My name is Erin Luchia, and I am one of the founders of Kappa Pi Chi at the University of Lethbridge. University of Lethbridge currently has 3 greek organizations: 1 - Kappa Pi Chi Women's Fraternity (2011) - Local seeking extension 2 - Delta Eta Iota Sorority (2008) - Local 3 - Kappa Sigma Fraternity (2006) - International In the beginning of 2013 greek life on campus was successful at establishing a Greek Council with the University and Students Union. Kappa Pi Chi has sent bulletins in to NPC, the most recent being one in December of 2013. As far as I am aware, we meet requirements for extension (membership, GPA, fundraisers, etc...), however no interest with colonization has been expressed from any NPC organization. However, we have had offers of colonization with national organizations who are not affiliated with NPC. Kappa Pi Chi will continue to improve itself and seek colonization from a NPC organization until she either receives colonization from one of these organizations or decides to colonize with a different organization. Our organization was founded on the goal of becoming a chapter of a national sorority, so that is what we are going to do! If you have any information or suggestions I can pass on to my currently executive committee about moving forward with our goal of colonization, please let me know! :) Maybe owls and squirrels will get along just great! ;) Note: My comments are of my own, and do not reflect those of Kappa Pi Chi. |
Good luck! It sounds like you have a plan, and you are confident. I wish you well!

Thank you, LouisaMay!
It's going to be a long journey, but I know this will have a huge positive impact on our sisters, the university, and the community of Lethbridge! Who ever decides to colonize us will be very lucky indeed! If you have any suggestions please send me a DM. I am open to hearing suggestions that I can bring to the organization about moving forward with our goal of colonization! :) |

Even if you have any suggestions pertaining to selectivity, that would be great. I have created another thread to get some ideas. Of course boosting our GPA through recruitment is a huge plus! I am just not sure about the specifics for going about that in a way that does not intimidate anyone/hinder recruitment. :) |
Well, good luck with it!
