Northerner rushing a University of South Carolina Fraternity?
 

I am a senior from Cleveland, OH (actually an affluent suburb of Cle) and although people reassured me there is no north/south sentiment at the university, I am skeptical when it comes to greek life. Are the fraternities, or some of the fraternities, likely to reject people because they're from the north? Are the ones that do accept "Yankees" lame compared to the other ones (the ones with nice houses in Greek village)? If it makes a difference, I will most likely be in the honors college and would consider myself a pretty fun kid to be around. (not trying to be pompous, just get an accurate response.) In addition, my family are no Kennedys but my dad does pretty well. Thanks in advance.

Are you from the "Eastside"? I was born and raised on the "Westside".

The best advice is to "Be yourself" and keep a open mind during Rush. True brothers will accept you regardless of your social and economic class strcuture.
