The Best Man Holiday
This movie deserves its own thread. It almost gave Thor a run for its money. I'm so happy it is doing so well in the box office. The majority of viewers were Black and predominantly Black women.
Some of you grown actin' GCers who have seen the movie are actin' sometimey. :p Share your thoughts on the movie. Mine are copied and pasted from the other movies thread: The Best Man Holiday :D I loved it. Those of us who love the original had to wait 14 years. It was true to the characters of the original. I would see it again but my next theater trip is reserved for "12 Years a Slave." I will buy the DVD (I don't do bootleg). :) 1. Shout out to the Ques. I wasn't expecting that when they started talking about line sisters. 2. Predictable at times but part of that is because I still have the original movie memorized. I had the VHS and now have the DVD. 3. There were some tears in the theater. 4. Morris Chestnut. The End. 5. Good holiday theme. 6. Pronatalist and "one size fits all" at times but the movie was able to distract my annoyance. 7. Terrence Howard kept me laughing. The original movie and "Dead Presidents" was when I thought he was handsome. He lost his handsome but slightly redeemed it with this movie. 8. "Can You Stand the Rain". Morris is fine and sexy. Terrence can dance. They all looked cute. I love Black menses. I love Black folkses. ETA: Delta makes the world go 'round but I didn't assume Mia and Shelby are Deltas. I totally missed the violet at the end but slightly remember it now (avoiding a spoiler). Perhaps this was a Coleman Love shout out from start to finish. http://classyblackgirl.com/the-best-...-coleman-love/ (I will create a 12 Years a Slave thread after I see it. Mizeree/IotaMan's stank ass should create the thread since he already saw it.) |

I loved the movie, and yes indeed, it deserves it's a topic to be discussed by itself. I liked the first one better, but at the same time, I still enjoyed this one. This is probably the first movie I've seen where I felt laughter, sadness, happiness, and anger all rolled into one. For anyone who has not seen the movie, you really should. It was really good.

The first movie is better. The second movie is good but it isn't as "see a billion times for the rest of my life" as the first movie. :p
