Is hazing of this magnitude common in all fraternities??

It's probably more prevalent in some than others. No comment on whether it's common in Kappa Alpha Psi. Most fraternities handle their chapter and membership discipline internally.

I've never met a BGLO member who admittedly only gets information on fraternities AND sororities (it isn't only fraternities) based on news stories on hazing. There are hundreds of chapters across various councils and conferences of sororities AND fraternities. Therefore, people being caught and reported in the news (rather than only handling internally) doesn't mean that is the only thing happening. Even if you go based on the news, over the years there are at least two NPHC fraternities that have received more stories. That doesn't mean they are DOING the most.
