Greek Physique Performances Misrepresent Community
This is from Emory. Slightly stunned at stuff people think it's ok to say in public now. http://www.emorywheel.com/greek-phys...ent-community/

Hoping that's the last year for this "fundraiser"....

I think it's a great idea for a fundraiser that needs some evolved quality controls on the participants, such as immediate disqualification for unfraternal behavior.

I especially like how the writer calls his fraternity an exception to the unfraternal behavior, but also takes a dig at Pikes as stoners.

Would this happen to be the same Emory that I posted the news article in the Risk Management section this morning? The one in Atlanta, GA?

Ironically, if it is:
FOX ATOMIC, a division of 20th Century Fox, was supposed to film a remake of "Revenge of the Nerds" there but: From Wikipedia: "Filming took place in Atlanta, Georgia at Agnes Scott College, the Georgia State Capitol, and Inman Park. Filming was originally scheduled to take place at Emory College but university officials changed their minds after reading the script. A story by the Chicago Tribune described the film as too "raunchy" for the campus administration." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revenge_of_the_Nerds |
It's just sad that people take a fun and worthwhile philanthropic venture and taint the message with this crap. As a DPhiE advisor who has seen tons of Deepher Dude male beauty pageants, they can be done successfully and make lots. Our Drexel chapter raised more than $25k last year with theirs. It's unfortunate that This is what is remembered and not Thetas work.
