Should I have joined a fraternity?
I'm 21, and finishing my last semester as an engineering student at MSU. It seems that looking back, it would have been really fun. Greek members get access to lots of alcohol before 21, have lots of interesting events, and are able to make strong social networks for job-seeking. Engineering was far more time-consuming than I expected.

Of course Greek Life is fun, but there are plenty of worthwhile things to do in college and after you have graduated. Congrats on your upcoming graduation!

You might've enjoyed it. What I'm wondering is what information you thought you were going to get when you created an account and started this thread?

OP, are you trolling? All students, not just Greeks, are able to get access to lots of alcohol before 21.

If you didn't think about it during college or want to do it, then no, you shouldn't have. I knew Greek engineering students that had jobs and significant others. That's four time consuming situations - and I somehow think they knew each of those would take time going in.
And second on what Carnation said. Greek life wasn't present in my high school, but underage drinking abounded. |
Ok.....

Magic 8 ball says, "No."

If the only reasons you think you should have joined are alcohol access, events, and networking for jobs...it's a good thing you didn't. Fraternities aren't just about what you get, they are about what you give as well. This seems to have sailed over your head.

you should have! I just joined and it is so fun! not all about the alcohol either. i have met some people i know i will have by my side for the rest of my life! but don't look back because there is nothing you can change
