Taking part in COB!!
 

Hi girls! I'm Sarah and this is my first post! I've been lurking around for a while now.
So I've gone through informal recruitment at a sorority here. I was invited to all three events, and the girls were really nice and intelligent! It was a lot less daunting than I expected. I felt really comfortable talking to the girls in this sorority, and I really felt like I had a connection with this chapter.

The thing is, I haven't received a bid. The last event was on Friday, and it was a long weekend here, and I've been waiting and getting all jittery about it!! I know that since this is informal recruitment, there probably aren't a lot of spaces to fill. So I understand if they can't offer me a bid because of this, or because they didn't feel like I was right for them :(

I want to look on the bright side though! Perhaps.... they haven't had time to meet and discuss who they want to offer bids to yet? Is this how informal recruitment works? I'm just hoping to know the rough time frame of the decision making process so I won't have to be this anxious, i'm literally checking my phone every time I get a notification! If not, you can just share your COB stories here, or how you sorority carries out informal recruitment!
I've really enjoyed reading about the COB stories here. It's really nice to see girls finding the right sorority for them :)

I'm sorry (I know the waiting can be hard!)! Unfortunately it differs by each chapter and their own timeline. It is entirely possible that they haven't figured it out with the long weekend. (Are you Canadian? If so, Thanksgiving was always a dead zone for my chapter and still is to some degree.) Hope all works out!

I am sorry that you have not heard any more from this sorority. Some chapters do let the PNM know that she would not be receiving a bid. Sometimes in a COB situation the PNM will not hear back from the sorority if things do not work out. This does not, however, mean that this is the case right now. It might be that they are meeting some other PNMs before they make their decisions.We would really have no way to know. Different chapters conduct COB events differently, so there really is no standard. I hope that it works out for you!

I don't know your school, but at my alma mater, it wouldn't have been out of place to send a quick email inquiring after a bit. I would say maybe on Friday? (If you do, be polite and brief!)
