Has anyone heard of "LSU Greeks That Matter"?

I tried to look all over GC, but I haven't found it and I was surprised.

Has anyone heard of the blog LSU Greeks That Matter?

It's this site a girl made last year at LSU and is basically a website with sorority and fraternity tiers on campus and is pretty creepy because it has collages of pictures of the "greeks that matter"

Well last year the girl who ran it was exposed by Bama Greeks That Matter and was saying some pretty bad things about hazing and African-Americans.

Well I guess someone new took over the site and is updating it.

And also, apparently theres UF Greeks That Matter, LSU Greeks That Matter, Bama Greeks That Matter and Ole Miss Greeks That Matter.

Is this REALLY what people care about these days? The girls site has nearly 700,000 page views and its all about superficial things.

Yes we have heard of it, condemned it as stupidpants, and try not to link to it or promote it in any way. It would be awesome if you would edit your post to do the same. :)

My daughter showed it to me last year. Her roommates biological sister was very upset that she was not included in their sororities girls that mattered!!!
Unfortunately I would say that yes this is what a lot of the girls are like, THEY ARE very SUPERFICIAL.

And to clarify, she was not exposed by Alabama, she was recorded by LSU guys while she was drunk and bragging about the things you mentioned above. She was removed from her sorority, not sure if she went alum or was just dropped.

Alabama's site seemed to start as just a site to bash LSU which is why the story of her exposure is all over it, of course she was not going to put it on her site.

I'm so happy that these type of sites ignore the existance of my sorority! Foolishness!

Yet Funny Greek Shhh and many other sites don't ignore it. :-)

We all have our turn, don't worry!

I'm aware, but I don't entertain it. The last thing any GLO's need are members pushing stereotypes.

Westcoast Wonder--Could you possibly delete this thread? Just having it on here gives this site more publicity even if we're discouraging it

AZTheta 09-23-2013 11:50 AM

Pretty sure only moderators can delete threads.

The Internet is full of crap; active Greeks don't have time to waste on it or post about it. Too busy with school/membership/other demands. Alums just shrug at this kind of foolishness. It's usually only interesting to non-greeks.

The thread doesn't need to be deleted. People are smart enough to figure out that sites like this or GR are pretty worthless as sources for good information.

WestcoastWonder 09-23-2013 07:38 PM

AZTheta's right, non-moderators are not allowed to delete threads. But i'm sure it'll be closed since it's already been brought up.

I didn't know there was already a thread, which is why I brought it up. We can all just ignore it since we're just beating a dead horse.

Sorry Westcoast--I didn't mean it in a mean way. I'm very frustrated lately because I had several (Dr. Phil, I was about to say many and had to correct myself ;)) excellent girls who chose NOT to go through recruitment this year because they believed the negative stereotypes about sororities. Websites like the one you're talking about drive me nuts because they encourage the stereotypes.

No, I totally understand. My sister dropped out of recruitment even they she had two perfectly good houses left and didn't want to join because of the bugs put in her ear her freshman year and the whole tier thing.

It's ridiculous.
