Also one of the local orgs told me that although they liked me they couldn't give me a bid due to what happened last year, when the other organization messed up with the paperwork needed to pledge a sorority.
During Formal rush at my school you meet two of the four national sororities on day 1 of first rounds and you meet the other two the following day which is obviously day 2 of first rounds. Then you choose which two you would like to go to house tours/pref for and then go to the houses. One house serves dinner other one dessert. You only have about a little less than an hour with each house which makes it difficult to choose and formulate an opinion on which house you would rather be in.

I'm already confused. what is "both regular rush and also formal recruitment?" you got locals, you got NPC, you got all that drama from last year...last night you said you weren't going to post anything. now here you are 12 hours later, give or take, posting again like you were in other threads...you keep coming back here, and frankly it looks to me like you want attention. If you are going to post, write it out and edit it so it makes sense, please. My patience has been limited out.

Seems like a lot of groups to keep straight.

By "national", do you mean NPC? Do the NPC sororities take members during the eleven sorority shindig?

I feel like I saw a whole lot of "not for me" in your post. I hope you are working to maintain an open mind and I hope that you find what you are looking for.

Brooke: Haven’t attended any parties here but one of my friends is in this sorority. They seem fun. I have heard that this sorority is known to be the Sluts on campus but not sure if it’s true. This is a national sorority so in later posts you will see them along with 3 others.

Please watch what you say. I'm not a professional internet investigator, but there are people on this site who could figure out your campus and the sororities you are referring to in five minutes. All NPC organizations are wonderful and stereotypes are just that - stereotypes.

Amen. Some women on GC have super powers when it comes to figuring out schools/chapters that PNMs are referring to.

Refuse to listen and DEFINITELY REFUSE TO PASS ON stereotypes that you hear of chapters. Refuse to use the words slut or whore in connection to another woman or a group of women, whether your opinion or just repeating something that you've heard. It doesn't just comment on what you or others may believe about that woman or group of women but it reflects on you as well. Be gracious, kind, humble and interested in each woman that you meet. This can only reflect well on you as a person whether you receive a bid to any of the groups or not.

/end soapbox.

I'm calling bs on this whole thing. You certainly have a vivid imagination, OP.

For clarity (which may be asking a lot for this thread), formal recruitment is the same semester as the 11 sorority recruitment? If so, how does quota work? Open for anyone to answer.

So here it goes.....

Day 1 Activity fair (3rd day of school)

Asia: very diverse sorority of college educated and professional women. Lots of Latina women. Service group. Serves as voices of empowerment for women. Seems like a good group but not sure if its what I am looking for.

Christi: It was the first multicultural sorority in the nation. It is dedicated to bringing awareness to cultural and women issues. Seems like a good sorority but not exactly what I am looking for.

Kendall: This sorority seems like a good group of girls. Diverse with many personalities. I somewhat liked them just not sure how well I connected with them. They seem fun and organized, so no lost/ not handed in paperwork, which is a good.

Maddie: Not sure about this group. Before speaking to them I desperately did not like them due to a conflict with the alumni and my skating team, but after I am somewhat considering them. They made me forget why it was that I didn't like them to begin with. Seems like a great group of girls although have heard somethings about their pledge-ship.

Nia: More of a Latina sorority but diverse of all cultures at the same time. Girls seem nice but not for me.

Kelly: Good, fun loving sorority. Seems to have a strong sisterhood from what I could tell. I have a friend whom is in this sorority at my school. She really seems to enjoy this sorority. They do party a fair amount (more than some others) Overall I like them. Not top of my list but not low either.

Mackenzie: Liked this sorority and the conversations were pretty good. Seems like a strong sorority with a strong sisterhood. They are one of the four national sororities on campus and actually the smallest of the nationals on campus. Diverse group of all sizes and shapes. Seems like nice girls who love to party. Wasn't sure if I fit in with them though.

Brooke: Seems like a pretty strong and nice sisterhood. Another one of the four national sororities. I have a friend in this sorority. Don't have anything to say bad about them. Diverse girls but almost entire sorority is exceptionally pretty as well as friendly and easy going. Seems organized.

Chloe: Liked them decently well last year but loved them this year. I had excellent conversations with most of these girls. Most natural to speak to but has a reputation of being the "bitchy" sorority. Felt like these girls and I were able to relate and understand each other well. They are the oldest sorority on my campus. They seem very very organized. At the end of the day this was my favorite sorority.

Paige: Really like this one also. Hung out with them a little bit last year after I was forced to stop pledging Abby by the school due to the lack of my paperwork having not been submitted on time by the PM of the sorority. I love all of their philanthropies, love the colors and seemed to connect well and have good conversations with the girls in the sorority. This sorority is the second smallest on campus with Abby being the smallest.

Abby: And finally.... I wasn't sure what to expect with this sorority due to what had occurred last semester with the PM not handing in the paperwork on time. I pledged here last year and still remember almost all the information that I had been taught but am not sure that this is the best place for me. They are the smallest sorority on campus with only 9 active members and with everything that happened last semester I don't want it to happen again, so I am unsure how I feel about them. I do have some friends in this sorority.

Overall I liked all of the sororities I visited but enjoyed some more than others.

Abby: Still liked these girls but wasn’t sure of how interested in me they were anymore. I did get to see most of the girls in which I met last year while pledging. After the open party I did want to pledge them mostly because I knew the information that I would have to know. It was a fun party but since some of the girls that were active members last year were not there it was not quite as fun.

Paige: Still like this one. I went to an open party here. I had a lot of fun. The sister’s immediately recognized me and made me feel pretty comfortable. These sisters seem like a fun group of girls with a strong sense of sisterhood bond. This is the sorority that said they liked me but couldn’t give me a bid due to what happened last year since they have a rule within their sisterhood that doesn’t allow them to bid a person who pledged another sorority and then either dropped out or in my case was forced to stop by the school due to a paperwork problem. They say that it’s because if they did take someone like that then it can make a bad org to org relationship.

Chloe: Never was able to attend their party. Seem like a good group of girls. When I visited the Greek life fair a few days after the activity fair they talked to me, seemed interested and I felt comfortable. I had heard though that this sorority had a reputation as the bitchy sorority. I know a few members in this one.

Brooke: Haven’t attended any parties here but one of my friends is in this sorority. They seem fun. I have heard that this sorority is known to be the Sluts on campus but not sure if it’s true. This is a national sorority so in later posts you will see them along with 3 others.

Kendall: Didn’t go to any parties with them but met them again at the Greek Life Fair which only some of the organizations did. They are also a national sorority so you will see them along with Brooke and two others in formal recruitment. I have a class with one of them. When some of the girls see me around campus they recognize me and say hi.

Maddie: Attended a mixer with them being one of the other groups we mixed with. I have heard both good and bad about them. Seem fun to hang out with but not sure.

Mackenzie: Love, Love, Love this sorority. These girls have some of the most fun parties I have ever been to. They are a down to earth group of girls. They seem like they have a very close sisterhood. I went to two different parties with them. I have heard rumors about this group and they don’t have the best reputation. They seem to be genuine are beautiful girls. I love their philanthropies and they seem very active on campus. They are also a national sorority so you will see them along with Brooke and Kendall and also another one later in the story as I get into formal recruitment.

Kelly: Seems like a good group of girls. Went to a day party with them and then out to dinner with two members. They seem very relaxed and easy going. I have a friend in this sorority. This is also the last of the national sororities.

They are both fun yet at the same time really chill and easy going. The conversations that I had with them were really intriguing and I really enjoyed myself. Had good things to drink.

Abby: This being the old sorority I had pledged last semester I felt pretty welcomed. At this party I met some of the alumni I had never met before even though I had went through the pledging process. I also saw and spoke to one of the sister’s that graduated last semester and I had really connected with. I did have a moderately embarrassing moment here, when I ended up falling and spilling my drink all over the floor due to the floor having a raised bump in it. I still liked them and felt that it may have been a possibility for me.They had good things for us to drink.

Maddie: I walked into the house they were having their party at since their house is a decent drive away from the school and it would be hard for potential new members to get there. They had their party at a fraternity house that really smells bad and is really sticky and hot. Their party theme was Toga wear. I hated this place and left within 10 minutes of entering.
