I've done it!

I have finally finished my book that I've been working on for 2 years! Well, I've finished the first draft. Now on to editing, rewriting, and deciding whether I should kill a character.

Being a published author has been a dream of mine for a long time, and with my hubby's blessing I quit my job last year to write and go back to substitute teaching. Very excited that I finally have something concrete to show him. :)

Congratulations! I also quit my job last year to finish my novel. I wish you much success as you move through the editing process.

Congrats! I'm seriously impressed.

Do you read Query Shark? Because that blog is a must for anyone looking for an agent. I'm not even seriously writing at the moment (it goes in spurts) but I read her all the time. It's pretty funny and enlightening. I also recommend the Getting Past the Gatekeeper blog, although it hasn't been updated in quite a while.

What kind of book is it?

Also, if you need a copy/line editor, give me a PM (you too, Sen, or any writer!). I can do some content editing as well, and I will note if something leaps out at me, but I tend to miss the forest for the trees. :)

Congrats! I left my full time job a year and a half ago to write and I've never looked back! Released my fourth book last month! Hooray for working in pj's!

Thanks for the encouragement guys! It's young adult fiction. Other than tuning in to Write On Con this year and going to a couple of writer's groups, I've kept pretty quiet about it and haven't read many blogs, etc. I'll check out the ones you mentioned.

This is the first one I've finished. (I've got a lot of first chapters I've collected over the years, though.)
