Chobani yogurt recall

So I just heard on CNN that all varieties of Chobani yogurt have been recalled. Guess which mom has two thumbs and has been packing that in her kid's lunch all week? This mom! I've also been blowing her off that it didn't taste good. Where's my mother of the year award?

I threw my Chobani away yesterday. The vanilla I bought last month was not good. I kind of think that's just because vanilla Greek yogurt is not good. LOL. It may be because of this stuff. Just in case, I threw it away.

LOL. I love Greek yogurt, but I rely heavily on the fruit stuff to sweeten it up. Vanilla isn't enough to sweeten it, IMO. My dearest friend in the world eats the plain stuff with just a touch of honey. (BARF!) Of course, she has an enviable figure in her 40s, and well...I'm...um...babies love for me to hold them because it's so comfy for them.

Thanks!

You're silly. LOL. Greek yogurt is the healthier yogurt option but it isn't always the tastiest. I liked the pomegranate and pineapple Chobanis. To hell with Chobanis, though.

Liberté is another fabulous brand of Greek Yogurt and is from Canada. I switch off buying which ever one is cheapest at Kroger.

FSUZeta 09-06-2013 09:32 AM

Oh no.....Chobani is my favorite, and calorie-wise it beats Liberte' which is chock full of those evil things (calories), although delicious.

FAGE is my favorite! It's like eating ice cream as far as satisfaction goes. The one with cherry is reminiscent of cherry-topped cheesecake. YUM.

Hope your wrist heals quickly!

Just checked the ones I have in the fridge. Mine don't have the recall number, and I haven't had issues with them. I love Greek yogurt, and use them a lot in smoothies.

We always get Fage...and eat it with a little bit of honey! ;) My husband is Greek, so that's the classic way to eat it. You get used to it over time. After 13 years together, I prefer it that way. He gets the 2% and I get the 0% which he says is disgusting. Ha!

DrPhil 09-06-2013 10:27 AM

OMG...AOII Angel is Greek forreaaaaal....

Boomchickawowwow....

I've gone back to Dannon vanilla with my own added fresh fruit. I'm a Greek traitor.

Fage's cherry pomegrante is the best flavor.

I've been on a Greek yogurt break and this Chobani recall has me wanting to extend that break.

An acquaintance of mine who is a reporter for the city paper's kid ate some of this yogurt and is experiencing some pretty serious medical complications. Chobani has refused to tell him what was in the yogurt so the child can be treated. They did promise that they would tell the child's doctor when he called. So far, the doc only gets a busy signal when he calls.

I've always liked yogurt so I tried one of the Greek brands recently.. it tasted very sour to me. I expected it to be thicker but taste creamy like normal yogurt. Is it supposed to taste like that or was it bad??
