Recruitment at USC

Hey All-

I am hoping to transfer to USC (u so cal) in the fall of 2014 as a sophomore transfer. I am planning on rushing if I do attend that university and had a couple questions.

How brutal is their rush? Are there a lot of girls? (The university where I am now had almost 3000 girls rush) Are they very picky?

Is it hard to get into a house as a sophomore? Do most/all houses takes sophomores?

Is it hard to get into a top house as a sophomore?

How is the sisterhood over there?

If I rush as a sophomore, will it be hard or relatively easy making friends with the girls in my grade who are my age instead of the girls in my pledgeclass who will be freshmen?

do a search! lots of USC threads. paging ellebud!

And, you need to drop the "top house" mindset from your vocabulary.

Hey everyone!

I recently just pledged XYZ sorority in August, but I have recently made the decision to transfer to a school where they do not have my sorority. I have not been initiated yet, we are officially initiated in October, so as of now, I am still a new member. If I drop out of my sorority, will I be able to pledge a completely different sorority at the different university that I attend when I am a sophomore at my new school?

Also, If I do drop out of my sorority, how exactly do I go about that?

KD- you were given great advice in the other thread, however this thread leaves a lot more "ifs" and "hopes" to the story.

I would really think long and hard before you depledge. While no university had "almost 3000 girls rush" there is one that had over 2000. If that is where you are located, and you wind up NOT transferring, your chances for a do-over rush there next year will likely not go in your favor.

The grass always seems greener elsewhere. You may already be in an optimal situation. Think carefully about any and all decisions.
