Tips for becoming a CDC?
I am interested in becoming a CDC for National Kappa Delta. For those of you who aren't sure, a CDC is a Chapter Development Consultant. They are women who just graduated from college and go around and help chapters. I'm pretty sure that other sororities have a similar thing, but call them different names.
So...my question is for those of you who are involved with Headquarters or who have held a similar position.....do you have any tips for filling out my application? I'm pretty sure that the application is the first step, then there is an interview at our headquarters in TN. But I guess you have to make the cut to get the interview. This is something I really, really want to do, and think that I would be good at! Any suggestions? Thanks! |
I've never applied for our NC position (National Consultant) but I'm sure your Nationals wants very specific details on ways you helped your chapter, school and community. I don't think it would hurt to be very detailed but don't embellish!
Good Luck! I'd post this on the KD forum too! Hootie |
hey Moxie,
Since my chapter is a newer one we have CDC's in and out of our chapter all the time. I can give you some tips based on our pasted CDC's The most important thing is you have to be all about KD- from head to toe. The women that come to our chapter are creative and exicted. you have to be able to keep your head up and motive the girls do be the KD standard of excellence, even when you are all exhusted and ready to sleep. I really helps when the sisters that are from very diverse backgrounds. Smile |
Moxie, good for you!!!!!!:) Check with your national and the propern Greek thread to try to find info for yourself!;)
The Best of Luck!:) |
Moxie- I am applying for the same position in Phi Mu (I posted some stuff in the Phi Mu forum). I would say, contact nationals NOW!!!! My application was due back in December, but I don't know when yours would be. We had a LONG written application and 4 required recs (chapter pres., adviser, major professor, and employer--I used my internship supervisor) As in my other post I said that they will be conducting all interviews over the telephone this month (round 1) with round 2 phone interviews in February. Good luck with everything and please PM me with any questions :)

First of all, congratulations on wanting to get involved nationally!
My national GLO is quite different from NPC. We don't have CDC's, or the equivalent, mainly because we are so small. Also, our national staff is voted on & is entirely volunteer (<--- this will, hopefully, eventually change :D) And I am part of that national staff, so I thought I would try and give you some general advice. KDGirlie & ladybug gave you some great advice, listen to them!
Hope those things help. Best of luck! Working for your sorority will be an eye-opening, exciting experience!!! |
