Oscar nominee Eileen Brennan passes at 80
 

This actress was one of my favorite character actresses and, IMO, was one of the saving graces in the cult classic, CLUE. She was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in 1980's PRIVATE BENJAMIN.

Wasn't she in a really bad accident years and years ago, and wasn't expected to survive?

So sad. She was a wonderful actress. She'll be missed.

One of her best films (or at least the funniest) IMO was Neil Simon's Murder By Death. So much great talent in that film.

She was also awesome in The Cheap Detective (sort of the companion piece to Murder by Death) and as Jack's bitter acting coach on Will and Grace.

ah yes, MURDER BY DEATH...one of the greatest film satires/parodies ever; and contains a rare acting appearance by Truman Capote. Sheesh, all of the cast of MURDER BY DEATH has passed on now, with Maggie Smith as the sole remaining surviving cast member.

The Cheap Detective is one film that I haven't seen yet.
