There is no reason for me to have Netflix if Sopranos & The Wire are not on it.

I have not seen a single episode of The Sopranos or The Wire. I'm pretty sure I might be able to see them on HBO GO though.

What's The Wire about?

Okay, I'll come out and admit it. I'd love to see Honey Boo Boo, Bridezilla Bootcamp, and The Big Bang Theory. I love trashy TV and then I like to follow it up with comedy about intellectuals.

ASUADPi 07-24-2013 09:45 PM

Ditto on Big Bang Theory

TV Shows: I'd like to see some classics like Gilmore Girls, Friends, Seinfeld, Full House..

Movies: I would like to see better movies in general on Netflix instant streaming. But, some of my favorites: The Departed, Gangs of New York, Legally Blonde, A Time to Kill, Taken, Crash, The Blind Side.

ASUADPi 07-24-2013 09:52 PM

They really do need better movies on streaming. I wish they had a comment section where subscribers could list movies/shows they would like to see.

You mean you could do without Titanic 2? I SWEAR this was on when I got my free trial.

I agree. Some of the movies on there are just bad.

I just checked, it's still on there!

That's why we canceled it. They never had the movies we wanted to see.

My husband currently is watching Fringe. I can't keep that show straight. It's WAYYYYYY over my head. I try to follow along and enjoy it and I just get confused and frustrated :(

**edit** oh wait, he's watching it on amazon prime. Whoops.

knight_shadow 07-24-2013 10:53 PM

House is the only show I want to see added. I'm pretty happy with the recent TV shows they've added.

I think I'm the opposite. I like seeing new-ish movies on the site, but I use Netflix to watch all of the "I never would have watched this" movies [and documentaries and TV shows and...] out there. A lot of them have ended up being enjoyable. That, alone, is worth my $8 :)

AnchorAlumna 07-25-2013 12:49 AM

Old movies. Not 5-year-old movies. 30-, 40-, 50-, 60, 70-year-old movies.
Or maybe TCM could have an on-demand channel.

These, definitely. On hulu, you can get almost to the end of season 3 of The Practice which is not the end.

I own 12 seasons of ER on DVD. I'm slowly working on buying all the seasons but I will only buy them used, so it's taking me a while. But, it would be great if I could watch them all on Netflix.

I did the one-month free trial of amazon prime and was pretty pleased with their selection. And, if you didn't know, there is a student prime that you just need a .edu email address to sign up for for $39/yr. But, you can only use it for up to 4 years.

As a I-won't-pay-for-cable-anymore person, I have found that visiting a cable channel's website may reveal recent episodes of shows I like. For example, MTV posts recent full episodes of most shows online for 48hrs after airing. After those 48hrs, they take it down and re-post it at a later date. Bravo posts some episodes for some shows online but much longer after the original airing. A&E also posts quite a few episodes online but most of them are old. Some channels (like Lifetime and OWN) require that you sign in with your cable provider prior to accessing online episodes.

As a poor teacher, (a budget just passed that slashed education funding and did not give us a raise so I remain, for the 6th year in a row, at the very bottom of the pay scale) I am extremely thankful for the channels that do post content online for all to see.
