Hooking up news
To further the discussion from the Ole Miss thread (which has little to do with Ole Miss, but is a fun discussion), Stephen Colbert jumped into the exact same fray last night. After laughing out loud over both the coincidence and humor of the sitch, I almost got out of bed to post right away, but decided I'd be a grown up and just go to bed. So here's the segment at hand.
http://www.colbertnation.com/the-col...on-college-sex And I stand on my statement that girls are no better or worse than they were in 1984. |
Well, the double standard is alive and well and skulking about the the Courts and Laws of this Country. Women are regularly held to a much higher standard than males in Court, and it doesn't matter what the legal subject matter is. At least that's true around these here parts, if ya know what I mean?

If the women in Texas, North Carolina, Florida, etc. don't start voting women into office, there might be a revolution. When Women Run, Women Win! So says EMILY's List and I agree. And to have Congress controlled by a bunch of sorority women, both NPC and NPHC, imagine the world we'd have. There would still be vociferous disagreement, but shite would get done.
But that's not really the point of the segment on Colbert. It's about how the BREAKING NEWS that college women are hos is not only not new, but continually covered by the exact same newspaper. Don't they read their own stuff? Which brings up my other axe to grind, the horrendous state of journalism in America. When Stephen Colbert covers the news better and more correctly than the New York Times, we have a problem. |
:D Nodding head to all of the above.
