Ladies' room

It takes my gf on average 15 mins and up to 25 mins for a trip to the ladies' room. If there is a long queue or if she's having her 'period' I can understand, but these situations are not always the case. I have to admit sometimes this drives me nuts especially when the movie is about to start or when we are in a rush to catch a train or a flight. I noticed that not only my gf has this kind of 'bathroom habit'. Any guys/ladies out there can explain what is going on in the ladies' room?

that all is soo very true...ever notice how we always go to the bathroom in groups??! we have reasons for that!! :) hehe lol and if were on a bad date...we use that time to call a friend and tell them to call us in ten mins with "an emergency" hehe :)

Then I must be a freak becuase I always beat my husband out of the washroom (probably because I'm not a big fan of public washrooms, eh?)

HeidiHo 01-03-2002 10:13 AM

NeonPi, you aren't a freak. I don't beat my BF, but we tie or I'm in a fairly close 2nd. It just takes girls longer to get access to the necessary body parts. Not to mention the lines.

Yep, the lines are always longer for the ladies room, one of the hardships of being a female;)

I read that the building codes in some city (I forget where, think it was somewhere on the West Coast) now require twice as many ladies rooms as mens rooms, to cut down on the lines, the time, etc....

Now if only sports stadiums could catch up....

volgirl2376 01-05-2002 02:05 AM

i have a tiny fear of public restrooms. i dont like the weird smells...especially the rude poopie smells (i know nature calls, but i hate when someone just loses all abandon in a public restroom).
so selecting a stall is my first obstacle....if there isnt a line.
the next step is easy.
then i wash my hands...freshen my make-up...engage in small talk with friends. i dont really talk on the phone in the ladies room...thats just feels kinda weird.

If I'm at the bars... I get in the WIERDEST conversations in the bathroom with other women... You guys would just not believe us if we told you!

I hate the ladies room! I just want to get in and out and be on my way. I even go as far as to carry some b&bw antibacterial gel with me because the sinks are sometimes more frightening than the stalls!
I was in Austin for New Years and I had to pee twice. I stood in a long line the first time which went pretty fast, but by the end of the night the line went so slowly it was just annoying - especially when you've broken the seal!
Well what had happened was there was some girl in the handicapped stall in the back puking all over the place, so some guy that worked the club had to come in to make sure she was okay. Then the first two stalls had an ABUNDANCE of tp just sitting in the toilet - as if someone just ran with the damn roll of tp and stuffed it all in the toilet. So the ladies in the line had all been waiting for TWO stalls (out of 5). So while waiting I told some of the girls behind me if they had the guts they could pee in the first two stalls but I wouldn't recommend flushing. Two girls actually did!

THEN - there was this one girl walking around with a cut foot. She was bleeding everywhere and trying to soak her foot under the water of the sink. Then she hobbled to get a papertowel her friend was holding...and she could have completely infected her foot because the floor was a grimmy beer mess! ABSOLUTELY GROSS!

So men - if you're ever clubbin' with a girl, now you know our saga!

we need bathroom police like parking service people to get rid of this nonsense.

I'll tell you what happens once a bird disappears behind the door marked "Ladies"...first, there's the queue to contend with (which you already knew), but also, women just can't unzip their pants and be done with it, if you know what I'm saying. We have to go to a little extra trouble, which adds a few seconds. I don't know about other people, but I don't like to rush when I'm in the toilet...there's always the fear that I'll drop something in the commode or worse! Being careful takes time. Then we have to wash our hands, and fiddle with our makeup a little bit. Half the time we can't find our lipstick, so we have to dig through our purses a while. Have a conversation or two. And I completely understand the points made above about not wanting to use nasty stalls...it is quite disgusting, and I'd rather wait a few minutes to get one that's a little cleaner!

One of my good friends is totally grossed out by public restrooms. She has an entire ritual involving using the facility, including how to turn the faucet handles & flush without ever actually touching anything.

She goes in, gets paper towels to avoid touching the stall door or flushing things (god forbid we're in a bathroom with only the automatic hand dryers  ! I've seen her use her foot to open the door!). I don't really know what goes on once she's in there. When she comes out, it's the same way with the sink. She doesn't even touch the main door to the bathroom, she uses a paper towel, and tosses it into the trash on her way out.

Totally crazy!!!!

Okay I know what I'm about to bring up may be a little overboard...
But how many females out there "HOVER"? You know what I'm talking about right? Like you look down at the seat and are so disgusted that you could catch something if you sat on it that you kinda hover to pea?!?!?
A stall usually has to be really bad for me to feel I need to hover.
Anyone else do this? LOL :D
