badge rescue
is there a chi omega badge rescue group?
|
I don't know if there is an official "group" but I know there are sisters out there who do it in an unoffical manner and send the recovered badges to HQ

There is no official group, because...
It is disturbing to find Chi Omega badges on auction sites, being sold to the highest bidder. All of the fraternal groups struggle with this situation, but we all realize that the only thing we can really do is educate our membership in order to prevent this from happening. It has been the practice of the Fraternity not to purchase badges from eBay, unless they are unique, rare or significant. Other NPC groups also have this policy. Many feel that by trying to buy back all of the badges simply drives the prices up and encourages sellers to continue to list our pins.
A few years ago, eBay began to hide the bidders' identities. This makes it impossible to know if you are bidding against other Chi Omegas. There are a number of women who are interested in "rescuing" badges. They return them to the Executive Headquarters. The address is: Chi Omega Executive Headquarters 3395 Players Club Parkway Memphis, TN 38125 |
