Dark pink dress help?

Beloved granddaughter needs a dark pink dress for recruitment. No sequins, not strapless or halter, no "body con" (whatever that is). I have searched and searched, she has searched and searched; everything is either too formal or not formal enough.

Does anybody have a special place that they look for something like this?

Thanks!

www.asos.com really has a ton of options, they let you filter by color as well.

some of my favorites are this one and this one as well.
This one is pretty, but quite expensive, as is this one.

And what kind of pink is dark pink? More towards purple? Or more fuchsia?

Dress shopping!

Are these too bright?

I'll show her these! Dark pink as in what I used to call hot pink; she has a swatch to match. She's almost 5'10", all legs, so anything labeled "mini" would need pants (I haven't looked at all of them, don't even know if any of them are labeled as such.)

Thank you, thank you.

edit..

The one at Mod Cloth, I've been trying to get her to order; it looks perfect to me. The Lily ones are beautiful, but the dress has to be solid color, no lace or crochet look. I told her she needs to get on her chapter's FB page and see where some of the girls are looking, she said she trusts y'all more. The one at Macy's is sold out in her size. That seems to be part of our story.

I was going to suggest modcloth. I bought my graduation dress there and love it.

Some options I saw. I'm not sure if these fit of course and I'm short so the idea of things being too short is foreign.

If you look on the Nordstrom, Dillard's, or Macy's website, you can choose the color to narrow the search. There's a nice Ralph Lauren one at Nordstrom, for example.

This dress might be too spendy and/or too fancy, but it's pretty:

I love the back on this one. I always love a racer back though-- but it's still feminine. :)

I love that eshakti dress. Did you notice it's customizable? It's a little bridesmaid'y, but the price is great, and if she wants to adjust the length and the sleeve, even the neckline, she can! Frankly I think I'd be suggesting that to her sisters and they can each have the size shape and style they want for low cash and a consistent look.

You can do it with or without the embellishment if the roses are a bit much for you.

Oh, I'm loving some of those! I have emailed her to come over here and look at them. Love the J.Crew one, it is expensive but they have it in her size. Love, love the ones you can customize! You can even give your height!

Thank you, thank you!

She has been over and looked through the links; there are several that she has forwarded on to the "committee" for approval. They said they will be VERY ticky this year, and she is believing them Yes, she could do it herself, but this has always been something we enjoy doing together.

We are so very grateful (and greatful, too)..lol

Good luck!

They really should have given the sisters more choice in the shade of pink that they're wearing. I love hot pink/dark pink but I look like a zombie in it. Rose and light pink are much more flattering to me. There's a pink for everyone, but that isn't it.

Some days I'm glad that I don't have to shop for recruitment clothes anymore.

never heard of eshakti before... has anyone ordered from them? What is the quality like?

AOII Angel 06-14-2013 12:20 AM

Eshakti has good quality, but it takes awhile since everything comes from India. You really need to measure like they want because it is really difficult to tell how things will fit. I bought several dresses two years ago for Convention. Every dress fit totally differently. I still have them.
