Several Miss Americas have served longer terms than 12 months: 2005 winner technically served September 2004 to January 2006 due to the move from Atlantic City to Las Vegas; 2000 winner served September 1999 to October 2000; and when the pageant temporarily halted after September 1927 there was no Miss America again until 1933 (and 1933 winner served until September 1935--no 1934 winner crowned). There is no 1950 Miss America, as 1949 winner crowned September 1949 and then 1951 winner crowned September 1950. Change was effected to reflect actual dates/months of service (September 1950 thru September 1951). |
