Miss USA 2013 -- Greek contestants?

The Miss USA 2013 pageant is next month (June 16). There were so many women from Miss America 2013 who were Greek (ONE THIRD of the contestants!), thought I'd start a thread for Miss USA 2013.

Miss Oklahoma, Makenzie Muse - Pi Beta Phi (Oklahoma State)
Miss Georgia, Brittany Sharp - Kappa Delta (Georgia)

Any others?

She is competing for Miss America, not Miss USA. BTW Miss America will be crowned September 15, 2013 due to their return to Atlantic City from Las Vegas (this is a move-up from January 2014 date).

So the 2013 Miss America will only be from January to September? That makes no sense to the 2013 winner. If I were the woman who won in January I'm be really pissed that I'm abdicating my throne prior to my year.

Hm, that's weird, the pageant always used to be in September when I was competing, maybe 8-10 years ago. I am certain, because the year I aged out, I just barely missed it.

The Pageant is probably making every effort to send Mallory on as many jobs/trips as logically possible. She will still receive her entire scholarship and all her prizes. And she will forever be able to say "I AM a Miss America!".

Several Miss Americas have served longer terms than 12 months: 2005 winner technically served September 2004 to January 2006 due to the move from Atlantic City to Las Vegas; 2000 winner served September 1999 to October 2000; and when the pageant temporarily halted after September 1927 there was no Miss America again until 1933 (and 1933 winner served until September 1935--no 1934 winner crowned).

There is no 1950 Miss America, as 1949 winner crowned September 1949 and then 1951 winner crowned September 1950. Change was effected to reflect actual dates/months of service (September 1950 thru September 1951).

I saw some pageant discussion posts recently saying how lucky Mallory is for having the short reign, that most Miss Americas start getting really tired of the schedule and lifestyle about 2/3 of the way through the year. Deidre Downs was Miss America 2005 during the transition to Vegas, and everyone seems to feel bad for her for having the extra four months.
