This was a bad life decision because I was sort of lost my first semester without a good group of friends as a support system because all my friends were busy with swaps and new member priorities and building relationships with their sisters. I bombed and now have a 3.1 gpa. However, my high school gpa was above a 4.0, I was president of National Honors Society, captain of multiple sports teams and just all around really involved in high school. I was still very involved on campus and within my major my Freshman year.

I just want to be realistic about my chances of even being considered at the bigger houses. I am still very open minded seeing as I never went through rush myself and don't want to just base things off of other girls' opinions. However, I do not want to put myself through all this if it is just not realistic.

There was a girl in my Alabama Action group who went through rush that same week. She is very smart, sweet, driven, and attractive; however, since she did not spend much time at the houses, she did not have much recognition or time with the actives and was dropped from all the big houses after the first 2 rounds.

They tell girls it's possible to do both, but you lose a lot of the experience and full opportunity of both activities.
Don't know why they do it when they know how the very involved girls on campus want to be able to join a sorority as well as stay involved in big academic activities.
