Sending out an SOS, northern girl in need to recrruitment help for USC
Hi!
Im planning on transferring to USC this fall and I really want to go through recruitment, however ive been doing tons of research and have found it is a whole different animal than up where I am from. I have no legacy and greek life is not big at all where Im from, any advice on how to get recs/ how to survive recruitment and come out on the other end with a bid? Any and all help or advice would be so appreciated:o |
Is this South Carolina or Southern California?
|
And regardless there about 10 gazillion threads here about getting recs, regardless of if you mean the one in the South or the West. And there are an additional gazillion threads about rushing in the South, if that's the one you mean. My suggestion is read literally for 5 hours minimum and THEN start asking questions.

T would also add that you should search from a web browser like Google and should start with the terms: "greekchat" "recruitment" "[insert school nick name]"

Sorry About that guys!
Sorry about that everyone, didn't mean to upset anyone, had been reading through the threads here trying to make sense of everything. I've already contacted my areas Alumnae Panhellenic Council about trying to get in touch with local alumnae to talk about rush and recs and such, just trying to make sure I was on the right track! I'm just terrified of messing everything up. I'll read more next time before I ask questions I'm brand new to this site so my apologies!:(
Just to clarify it is in fact University of South Carolina Columbia |

You might start with these: http://web.sa.sc.edu/sororitycouncil/recruitment/faq/ http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=84326 http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=80173 http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=130355 http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=89371 I didn't actually see that much on USC, so if you have specific questions, ask. |
Make a list of everyone you know who went to college - not just your peers but friend of parents, neighbors, employers, Sunday School teachers, teachers, counselors, coaches, your vet, your doctor, etc. Then make a list of all the NPC groups at South Carolina. Then start down your list of contacts - ask if they were in a sorority, if so which one, if not do they know anyone who was, etc. Network the heck out of it from people you know. Then, when all that fail to get all the ones you need, then you contact alum Panhellenic.

When getting your Recs together, don't forget about AGD who just colonized this past year and Pi Beta Phi , who will be colonizing in the fall. You can PM me, I have a daughter at S. Carolina, who is Greek.

AND do all the other stuff, too. It helps to have more than 1 rec each at USCarolina. |
