Forever 21 and Sorority Symbols

I was cruising through F21 last week and saw these:

Looks like a sorority takeover to me!

Our chapter tends to do a BIG order from F21 come big/little season. They're really cheap but cute gifts that everyone loves. I ended up getting my little a few pairs of earrings and a necklace to spread out over the week and it was less than $10. While I may not be a huge fan of the store, it does come in handy sometimes and is very panhel friendly!

Kate Young Collection for Target

In addition to Forever 21 having sorority symbols, the new Kate Young collection for Target has earrings and pendants with arrows.

Target also has a really cute light blue dress with black anchors on it.

From the picture, it looks like it's on a separate jump ring from the sailboat, and probably not too hard to remove from the necklace if all you wanted was the sailboat and not the anchor.

I have seen a LOT of stuff with anchors on it lately! I saw a really cute J. Crew sequin top that was navy with a white anchor.

I'm going to give away my BIG jewelry secret with lots of symbols & mascots -- [broken link removed]
TONS of sorority symbol jewelry!
Owl - Chi O & KKG
Key - KKG
Anchor (got a DIAMOND & sterling silver pendant & chain for cousin's DG initiation) - DG & AST
Frog - KD & AKA
Lion - ADPi & Phi Mu
Turtle - DZ
Squirrel - AGD (yes, squirrel jewelry!)
Teddy Bear - AXiD, Alpha Phi, SDT & KD
Dolphin - DDD
Crown - Zeta (& 5-pointed ones, too)
Dove/Heart - Sigma Kappa
Panda (harder to find) - AOPi (but LOTS of Roses)
Penguin (rare) - Theta Phi Alpha
Ladybug - ASA
Angel - Pi Phi (not many now, but more a Christmas time)
Elephant (got a cool necklace for a Delta Sigma Theta friend that she's going to wear to her DST convention this summer)

But it was difficult to find arrows (Pi Phi), crescent moons (Gamma Phi), sailboats (Tri Sigma), kites (Theta), lyres (AXO).

There are also some flowers and your official jewel shouldn't be hard to find.

You can either purchase from the AUCTION pages (for the adventurous) and, most of the time, get a great bargain. Or, from the store (click JEWELRY) if you want to purchase quickly and easily.

For my fellow advisors, I bought a bunch of owl jewelry and let them choose. I've started buying the Prez & Recruitment Chair a ring or necklace & give it to them right before Rush starts each year (& my Panhell advisee). Plus, a UCLA member was just selected as a National Consultant, so found a darling owl necklace for her (sorry, Lauren -- spoiling the surprise).

Some you are about to have a new website addiction.
You're welcome!

There's a F21 close by and Founder's Day is imminent.....?!?!?!?!?

((Races off to buy a few items.... ))

Nope.

Maybe the frog is a local symbol at both universities I attended.
I know ZTA had a local mascot for their chapter besides the 5-point crown.
Saw several items like these online:

Sorry for any confusion with KD. I see the frog on AKA items too, but it may be local or unofficial, as it's not mentioned on their website.

Couldn't find any nautilus shells on The Liquidation Channel website, but there were many choices of white roses, bears & shamrocks (with the last symbol mostly around St. Patrick's Day).

http://www.dogeared.com

Has a whole sorority section. Including kites, compasses, torches, giraffes, sailboats, nautilus shells and so on...

I kind of love their stuff.

Yeah, what ^^she said. :)
When I saw the sailboat, I thought of Sigma Sigma Sigma.

During the 1970's and 80's, members of our family attended three campuses where Kappa Delta chapters had the frog as a mascot. Wonder how much farther back that local KD tradition goes?

southbymidwest 04-26-2013 02:01 AM

The frog is not used by KD at Ohio State-perhaps it is regional/local. Might be due to the sorority colors-green and white? What is more green than a frog?
