ADPi Gift Mart Has Closed!
 

I have this feeling that I'm slow on this announcement, but did you know that our Gift Mart is closed? This has me SO upset, as they carried many items that were actually azure blue (instead of the cobalt masking as azure these days!) and using our symbols properly.

On the other hand, I can imagine that it was a drain on Executive Office's resources, having to keep so much in stock all of the time. I really wish I had known, though, as I would have picked up a few things while they were available.

That's interesting. I'm an international officer and therefore might be more in the loop, but I got a ton of "Gift Mart is closing! SALE SALE SALE" emails when it was closing down.

I've been pretty disappointed in Sorority Spirit so far, so we'll see how it plays out.

I remember seeing things about giftmart closing but I can't remember if it was on the website or the facebook page. I do know that the creed can be purchased at The Sorority Girl Store.

It does make it harder to make sure I'm purchasing "approved" items online.

I remember a few announcements and emails, but I wasn't particularly sad about it. I never found anything there I actually liked--it all seemed a little dated and needed updating.

I can understand that. I do know that I had a couple of items in my cart, so it surprises me that I didn't get a notice. There were a few things that I really loved, and of course, don't see on anything of the approved sites now. The beanie-type Alphies come to mind.

All that said, I'm always sad to see a "mom & pop" type store close, and a chain or webstore takes its place.

It's been awhile now since Gift Mart officially closed (I got the emails for all the sales). While Sorority Spirit lacks in some areas, I was really pleased with their customer service. Marlene (who I think runs it on her own) was extremely nice when we ran out of items at DLC and I was able to order my item at the sale price w/ free shipping. She also included some freebies. So I will probably order from SS again.

I have had two problems with Gift Mart closing. The first is the lack of legacy apparel available. The second is the fact that dangles are now not sold at DLC. But when Gift Mart was closing, I purposefully picked up larger sized shirts for my girls before they were gone.
