Formal recruitment began at Stanford University last night. Bid Day is Tuesday afternoon.

Is it always this late? That seems kind of crazy! Do they all get their new member periods in just a couple of weeks before finals and school letting out?

Stanford is on the quarter system. Spring Quarter runs April 1 to June 18.

June 18th! Wow...Clemson's last day of exams is May 3. Stanford must start classes WAY later than we do. I didn't realize there could be that much of a disparity between schedules.

Yes. The UC system is also on quarters, I do believe. I loved the quarter system; took so many electives outside my majors, and the fast pace was perfect for my short attention span. Fall quarter doesn't start until the end of September. Wonderful for traveling after everyone else has returned to class.

Stanford begins their Fall Quarter during the third week of September. New members are usually initiated in mid May.
