Locals at Hunter College
hello!
I am interested in knowing about the defunct locals that were at Hunter College. I found some of the yearbooks online and there are several. what I have so far: Sigma Phi Omega (not a local) Sigma Alpha Gamma Gamma Tau Kappa (founded in 1898) Iota Alpha Pi (national, alpha chapter) Pi Delta Theta (not a local) Delta Lambda Pi Sigma Phi Sigma Gamma Omega Theta Pi Epsilon Pi Omega Iota Psi Phi Omega Phi Pi Sigma Epsilon Phi Epsilon Alpha Sigma Rho Pi Sigma Gamma Zeta Phi Lambda Gamma Phi Phi Sigma Gamma If anyone has any additional information I would greatly appreciate it! I am going to contact the college's archivist soon. There are just so many and I am sure some have become Nationals and such and maybe some Hunter students/alums on here might be able to get me going in the right direction. Thank you so much! Any info. one the ones above (or any I missed) would be great!! |
Since you're asking about defunct locals at a particular school, this thread might be a better fit in the Greek History Forum than in Greek Life. ;)

I can provide some information. Sigma phi omega became chi omega, omega iota to alpha delta pi, pi sigma gamma to beta sigma omicron, and gamma tau kappa to alpha gamma delta.
|
Kappa Delta's chapter was formed from a local called Eta Pi, which stood for "Joy in Doing."
|
Alpha Xi Delta's Alpha Omicron chapter was formed in 1925 from a local Phi Alpha Phi.

Thank you all so much! That is actually very helpful! :)
And I will also post this on the other part of the site. Thank you all!! |
