Suggestions of threads to move to this forum

In anticipation of this great new forum, we've noted some existing threads that would fit in well here. Here is a place to identify and link to those other threads so that supermods can, if it seems appropriate, move them over.

My initial suggestions (and yes, some of these are threads I started :o):

Badge Trends?

Fraternity and Sorority Arms, Seals, Flags and other Insignia

GC Virtual Tour Book of Fraternity and Sorority Heritage Sites and Landmarks

Retro pictures

Show me your National Headquarters (pics/photos/video!)

I realized after posting that I should have included nyapbp's threads.

Search results for threads started by nyapbp.

Even her "Happy Founders Day" threads are generally full of history.

And search results for threads started by Erik Conard.

I think I have to state a disclaimer on Erik's threads, though. They are full of great history, but some may see them as also having more than their fair share of bias, and a number of those threads had a tendency to veer off topic and into traded barbs between Erik, Tom Earp and others.

A part of GreekChat history, I guess.

And while we're at it, search results for threads started by oldu, which also tend to be history-based.

Yes, Erik was very biased, but many historians are. I think Erik's posts, while often being very insensitive from a gender/race standpoint are themselves, legitimate firsthand accounts of someone who was apparently once fairly prominent in the TKE organization.

Absolutely. I just figured I'd acknowledge both sides of the coin for anyone who didn't remember him.

I fail at using the search function here, but I seem to remember 2 threads about why certain GLOs were founded.

At your service, sir.

Why was your org started?

Why was your org founded?

And a few others I found in the process:

GLOs founded at the same school

The Basic symbols of all GLO's

There's also this currently active thread:

NPC/AES Members that are Defunct

Here's an older one, that I only remember because I posted pics in it. :)

Antique / Unique GLO Treasures

The thread about going from local to national to local back to national....

How do I link threads?

Bg

Kevin 03-27-2013 01:33 PM

Go to the thread you want to link.

Go to the link in your browser window and highlight it.

Hit ctrl C
(that copies it)

go to the destination, start a new post, hit ctrl V

Post reply.

Thanks! Can I make one tiny request? I see that in the navigation window to the left that this new forum is not listed.....is that in the works?

I use that navigation on my phone as its easier....

Thanks!
