Who can be a big?
 

Just out of curiosity, are bigs usually the girls that have been sisters of the sorority for a year? For example, the girls that were taken into the sorority last fall will be bigs for the girls that are initiated in next fall?
Or could anyone of any year be a big for the new members? How does that work?

It all depends on the chapter, how many initiated sisters there are, and how many pledges there are. It also depends on who has the time, desire and sometimes money to be a big. It also may depend on who gets along with who. Some chapters have more stringent requirements than others with regards to grades/sorority involvement/etc.

To sum up: Every chapter of every group is different.
