Becoming better friends with your brothers.

It's kind of difficult to become friends with some of the brothers in my fraternity. I'm a lot more reserved and quite than other brothers in my house I feel. I'm kind of worried about becoming the oddball in the house. I'm trying to become better friends but I feel like sometimes its like I'm still proving things to them. It feels uncomfortable at times trying to live with 40 other people. I had shit happen early in my life with losing my dad to cancer and it s harder sometimes to make friendships. I don't honestly know if thats why or if I just don't like living in yet. I got initiated last semester and just moved in. I've posted before, some of you may know that I thought about leaving. I want to stay in this house, even its shitty at first, I'm not quitting as soon as I got here, I want to make the best of it. You get out what you put in.

I do have really good friendships with a lot of the people in the house, I want to become better friends with the brothers. I want to feel more comfortable here I guess

...I feel like you just addressed your own concerns, dude. You can't force friendships, so just take it one day at a time.

You're not going to be friends with everyone in your house. Friendship comes through shared experiences, so being there is about 90% of the problem. If you have problems trusting other folks or letting people in, maybe you should go in for some counseling?
