Death of a Collegiate Member

From DG Facebook:

"Delta Gamma is heartbroken to report the death of a collegiate member.

Twenty-one-year-old Sarah Marie Graham, Alpha Xi-West Virginia, was killed on Wednesday when the car she was riding in lost control on a snow-covered highway in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania State Police say the car was hit by a power truck after going across lanes of I-79 in Washington County.

A fellow Delta Gamma sister was driving the car and is hospitalized in Pittsburgh. West Virginia University has arranged for counselors to work with the chapter members and the campus community during this difficult time.

Delta Gamma Fraternity Executive Director Colleen McGuire said, “We are truly saddened by this tragic accident. Losing a daughter, sister, friend is devastating to all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sarah’s family. We also pray for the recovery of second member involved in this terrible accident and reach out to her family if they need anything.”
Delta Gamma asks for your thoughts and prayers at this time for the families, friends and sisters of these two women.

Our thoughts are with the chapter today. Funeral arrangements are pending. We will update you as we hear official updates."

Prayers to sisters, family, and friends.

There seem to have been so many deaths of collegians this year. So sad.

DGs, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I-79 has nothing near it to break wind or blowing snow, so it gets very crummy very quickly.

I was thinking the same thing, 33. IMO, Western Pa in general is a nightmare to drive through in the winter.

My condolences to Delta Gammas on the loss of their sister.

CJ,
Thank you for posting this. I don't always see the various news feeds and I wasn't aware of this. What a sad day for this young woman's family and friends.
