Harlem Shake

Well, I guess Gungnam Style has finally met its match with this new craze: HARLEM SHAKE.

Let's post here youtube vids of GLOs doing the Harlem Shake; first up are the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha, UTK chapter:

When I first saw this on reddit a few days ago, I was like ppffft, wasn't that cool in like 2002? Then I figured out it's not quite the same concept. I still don't get it.

ETA: Ok, this was legit the first one to make me laugh

That wasn't the harlem shake. That was ... stupid.

Proving once again that white boys can not dance... especially the one running around with his pants around his knees

As soon as I read "Harmlem Shake," this is the image that popped into my mind (along with the thought "That is NOT new, who told that lie??").

Isn't this just pelvic thrusting? What makes that new?

It's just a lot of flailing around.

Brings to mind a horrible experience I had at a wedding once. A very handsome man asked me to dance (I love to dance); I was so excited! We got out on the floor, great music, I'm thinking "oh yeah, this is gonna be great, I love this song, this guy is so handsome"; whereupon he proceeded to do a combination of jerking, jumping, drowning moves and seizure-like movements, shaking himself wildly and throwing himself around in a manner which essentially made the entire room fall silent. I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me.

Needless to say he didn't get another dance partner the entire night, and I did not accept any more dance invitations from anyone.

Sort of like Elaine's office party dance on Seinfeld?

That would have been an improvement over what I experienced. But in that genre, yes.
