Baby Question
 

Erika and all moms- I just got the form to get that quad test. I thought it was just for Down Syndrome - is that true or does it test for other things? Should I go thru with it? Either way, Kevin and I are keeping the baby so we are thinking- why find out. But if it tests for other important things- I want to do it. Thanks! Sue

It tests for a bunch of conditions, including spina bifida and other neural defects. I refused amniocentesis, even though the last 4 I had were born after I was 40. Heck, I was 46 when I had the last one!

But I gladly had the quad test because there was no risk of harming the babies and it gave me peace of mind since my husband's cousin had a Down's baby and mine had one with spina bifida. If the quad test shows concerns, then you might want to opt for further testing.
